| HIRIH manufactures zirconia sensor, which has the precise craftwork, stable performance. Particularly we have mastered the technology and development for the high sensitive ceramic coating. |
The basic element is a thimble-shaped section of electrolyte (Zirconia Oxide), which is called zirconia tube, flanked by a pair of thin microporous platinum electrodes on both sides. The inner electrode is exposed to the atmosphere, while the outer electrode is exposed to the exhaust gas. It has some characters when meeting with high temperature: since the atmosphere side of the electrolyte is exposed to a higher concentration of ions than the exhaust side, the inner electrode becomes negative with respect to the outer electrode.
Oxygen ions are able to pass through the element and deposit a charge on the platinum electrode thus generating the voltage signal when the big difference for concentration exists.
The formula for the voltage signal:
|
 |
E—voltage signal,R—gas general status T—absolute temperature F—Faraday constant
P:O2 , PO2— proportion of exhaust gas and oxygen |
